Modern Lutheran Quote of the Day

The Lord Himself, the Holy One, clothes Himself with our sins as with a garment. H was anointed in our filth, made to drink from our sewers, and has been thoroughly infected and dirtied as our Christ. The Lamb is slain, not a costly or unblemished sacrifice of the rich, not a bull, but  a Lamb, beaten, bloody, cast down and despised, the offering of the poor. He is consumed and destroyed by heaven’s justice and mercy, yet He makes not a singly complaint. He is our Christ.
