St. Peter indicates that he is onto the way of the Lord. The kingdom is built on grace, on mercy, on forgiveness. The Lord is into repentance, forgiveness, cleansing, new starts. St St. Peter suggests more than double the generosity of the rabbis-not three, but seven. Bright as St. Peter was, the Lord demonstrates how beyond all of us His grace and mercy are. Not seven times, but seven times seventy, which is not to say four hundred ninety, but forever. He forgives as many sins as you’ve got. He even forgives more sins than you’ve done, more than you need. The Lord doesn’t give up on you.
