We sing the songs our fathers sang when they were growing up
Rebel songs of Erin’s Isle in South Side Irish Pubs
and when it comes to baseball-we have two favorite clubs
The Go-Go White Sox… and whoever plays the Cubs!
South Side Irish

Tonight begins a great part of summer for Chicagoans and baseball fans everywhere. (My hometown arrogance of its superiority knows no bounds.) In a little more than 60 minutes I’m going to be watching on mlb.tv with Jen and the kids the first series of the 15th regular season interleague Crosstown Classic, the Red Line Series, the Crosstown Showdown, or whatever you want to call it. Those so called ‘love-able losers’, which means their female fans look good when they lose, the Cubs, travel from the North Side and their friendly confines of Wrigely Field to U.S. Cellular Field to do battle against a far better White Sox team. As of tonight the Pale Hose lead this series 41-37, with winning 7 of the last 10 games. The Sox have also outscored the Cubs 382-358.
Let’s go Sox. Let’s make it 8 of the last 10.
